About the Photographer
I was a plein air painter for over 20 years which led to another 20 years of landscape photography and filmmaking. I love observing how subtle changes in lighting enhance mood and composition. Now, in the portrait studio, I'm applying what I've learned from painting and landscape photography to portraiture.
I see beauty in every face and body. It's my job to make the most of lighting, camera angles and those intimate moments that convey something unique about that person - an expression perhaps even more intriguing than a classic smile.
My own most valued family treasure is a studio portrait of my mother. That she thought to have a professional studio portrait taken was one of the greatest gifts she could have given me. That portrait has helped me realize how much a well-done studio portrait can mean to loved ones for years to come.
